Location: Fort Bend County, 35 miles southwest of Houston between Kendleton and Beasley, Texas

• Whirlpool’s Phase I: 750,000-square-foot building on 41 acres opening no later than December 2013
• Whirlpool’s Phase II: Another 750,000-square-foot building to be completed no later than December 2018
The Whirlpool Effect: Whirlpool appliances manufactured in the Pacific Rim will arrive in Kendleton by way of the Port of Lazaro Cardenas on Mexico’s Pacific coast and will transfer to railway in Mexico into Texas. Whirlpool will not pay taxes on products until their final destination due to CenterPoint Intermodal Center’s free trade zone status.

Location: South Dallas Corridor on Interstate 45 (I-45) with proximity to I-35 and I-20, one mile from the Union Pacific Intermodal Terminal

The Whirlpool Effect: Whirlpool’s 1 million-square-foot regional distribution facility at First Park DalPort is currently under construction. Whirlpool is consolidating more than 40 older distribution centers into approximately 10 large regional distribution centers. The Michigan-based appliance maker currently leases about 725,000 square feet in the Carter Industrial Park in south Fort Worth and is expected to vacate that space once the First Park DalPort space is ready.
